Money Never Sleeps
It’s been twenty-three years since Oliver Stone first introduced us to Gordon Gekko and his morally bankrupt mantra of “Greed is good.” Reprising the role that scored him an Oscar, Michael Douglas returns as the infamous Gekko, in this sequel to the 1987 motion picture classic, Wall Street.
The plot centers around a newly released Gordon Gekko following a lengthy prison sentence for insider trading. He’s has written a book, has not spoken to his daughter in years, and is about to get a new son-in-law.
Wall Street’s cast includes Michael Douglas, Susan Sarandon, Josh Brolin, Shia LaBeouf, Frank Langella, and Carey Mulligan although the trailer mainly focuses on Gekko (Douglas), his daughter (Mulligan), whom he’s trying to reconnect with, and her fiance (Shia LaBeouf), whom he befriends. The original film’s leading man Charlie Sheen is also rumored to make a cameo appearance in the new film.
Wall Street, Money Never Sleeps is due in theaters April 23rd.
